Efi’s (pronounced Afee’s) was inspired by my mom Eveline (Efi).
Being the youngest of 8 kids and growing up in the states, a lot of my heritage was lost, with the exception of the food. I remember growing up eating Dutch-Indo food 6 days out of the week. Not truly appreciating it as a kid, I realize now how fortunate I was.
Family gatherings were the best. With the Rijsttafel (which literally translate into Rice Table) filled with Satay, Rissoles, Gado Gado, Lumpia, Rice, Bami Goreng, Nasi Goreng, and so much more. I am so proud that I can share these wonderful flavors with my community. From the homemade sauces, sambal, and traditional dishes to newly created (Indo inspired) American fusion.
