As we enter fall, we all tend to enjoy a somewhat heartier cuisine, hence the second addition to our series of dinners which will be Italian cuisine.
As a child I still remember cooking with my mother & grandmother, there was always food.
One of our favorites was Italian, whether pasta, a simple caprese salad or even simpler, grilled bread with olive oil & Grated Pecorino cheese. We loved it all. When I worked at Gramercy Tavern I learned to make Gnocchi from Johnny Schaefer who was Tom Colicchio’s right hand man. These gnocchi are little love pillows that have a bite and give at the same time. Udoubtedly the envy of angels, they pair so well with sauteed shallot, thyme & white wine. Add some toasted Foccacia, good friends and a bottle of wine and we’re all good to go!
So in the second Pop Up in Gowanus I’m bringing my love of Italian food to you. The menu reads simple yet will be treated with heart and technique. Please come join us, wont you?
Menu:
Roasted Carrots, Ricotta & Pecorino infused Oilve Oil, Toasted Hazelnut
Eggplant Parmesan
Hand rolled Gnocchi with Sautéed Wild Mushrooms
Rigatoni Bolognese
Grilled Focaccia with Butter, Rosemary & Olive oil
Tiramisu
BYOB (Bring Your Own Bottle of wine)
It’s going to be a great night and we hope you can join us in Gowanus!
