Food has been part of our culture since childhood. Andres’ grandparents own La Rosa Bakery, where he grew up playing with his family and working during the summers. Sachi’s family started Tinta y Cafe where she has been working for over 6 years making daily specials and experimenting with her flavor profiles.
We met in culinary school and have been in love since. In 2016 we moved to Spain together where Sachi worked for El Celler de Can Roca (#3 restaurant in the world currently) and Andy worked for Tickets (#25 restaurant in the world currently). These culinary endeavors pushed us forward, and gave us a hunger to come home and make our dream a reality.
As we develop the concept of our cuisine we want to make something true to Miami and our Cuban heritage. We want our food to be a familiar experience, but brand new at the same time. Thus Sansara is born.
Sansara is Spanish for Samsara – the cycle of life and rebirth. Our goal is to create cuisine that has the soul of Cuban food, rethought from fresh eyes. And yes, our cat is the model for our logo. We hope to see you soon!
