On December 9th & 10th from 11AM – 7PM, the public is invited to the French Cheese Board, for a holiday pop up featuring tastings from five different cheese producers over the two-day period (three in Saturday and two on Sunday). Here the public can stock up on their favorite French Cheeses “French cheese is ideal to enjoy anytime and fun to share during the holidays – whether on a cheese board or in recipes – it also makes the perfect gift. At this time of year, our gift to all New Yorkers is the gift of Fromage at prices that they will not see again this year,” says Charles Duque, Director, The French Dairy Board, Americas.
During this two day experience, the Cheeses of France will have experts to speak with consumers to share their knowledge on the history and production of French cheese. Attendees will be able to sample various cheeses “This event will be an opportunity for people to enjoy French cheeses that they may have never tasted, while having a great time learning about recipes, production regions, and more,” says Duque. “French cheese is all-natural and each region and its terroir lends particular qualities to these delicious cheeses, some are so exquisite they benefit from protected designations of origin,” Duque adds. French Cheese and butter are more than food, they are a conversation starter – a little piece of France – and great to share with family, friends and colleagues during the holiday season,” he added.
France offers more than 1,200 cheeses, and this event will allow turophiles to sample some of them and learn from the experts. Guests will come away with an enhanced understanding of French cheese and naturally more appreciation for the diversity of French cheeses.
