Hamsa Offers Food Lovers A Guilt-Free, Go-To Dining Destination Featuring Delectable Healthy Delights and Culinary Culture
Culinary aficionados, Corey Hennig and Amir Terem are teaming up to disrupt the modern restaurant scene by bringing a taste of the Mediterranean to Manhattan’s Upper West Side in the form of a new “Pop-Up” experience. Hamsa, located at 421 Amsterdam Avenue, opened its doors Thursday, June 21.
Representative of the meaning of Hamsa, the native New Yorkers are melding their cultures with their backgrounds; Hennig is of West African descent and Terem is Israeli, to share and execute their vision for Hamsa, which is to provide guests with an exceptional dining experience focused on delicious cuisine that also boasts healthy eating.
“Our menu extends far beyond your typical Mediterranean fare with selections like the Mediterranean burrito and the Ethiopian mojito,” says Hennig, Partner. “We collaborated very closely with our talented chef to develop dishes that span from catering to the traditional to more adventurous palates, while also meeting the needs of our health-conscious diners. Quality healthy eating should never be an exclusive option. It should be available to everyone. We strive to bring locally sourced, all-natural ingredients to those that want it at an affordable price.”
Hennig credits his attitude and approach towards healthy eating and living to his days at a former Upper West Side organic staple, Josie’s, where he ran the restaurant that became synonymous with health-conscious cuisine. Terem’s brings a wealth of extensive international restaurant management experience. Monaco and Sabra in New York City and Isabella’s and The Saloon in Tel Aviv are among the restaurants he launched in a career that spans 25 years.
Hamsa seats 40 guests and boasts an inviting bar which seats 16. For those looking to dine al fresco, the outdoor café accommodates 36 guests. For more information please call 646-360-3231.
