Harrington Wines – One of San Francisco’s original winemakers, Bryan Harrington is not only a Pinot Noir specialist but also a leader in producing wines from unique grapes such as Trosseau, Touriga Nacional, and Vermentino. He also crafts sulphur-free wines that will be available to taste.
Prima Materia/Rosa d’Oro Vineyards – Pietro Buttitta is a professional chef and winemaker who has evolved into one of California’s leading Italian grape specialists. With Rosa d’Oro Vineyards he planted Italian grapes and crafted wines from Aglianico, Sangiovese, Refosco, Negroamaro, Montepulciano and many others that explicitly combine Old-World characteristics with the New. Prima Materia is his new project in the Bay Area that will combine his love of neglected grapes and culinary history in a combined restaurant and winery.
Sandler Wine Co – Ed Kurtzman started out in the cellar at Bernardus, under the tutelage of Don Blackburn and Kirby Anderson. Next, he spent three harvests as assistant winemaker to Michael Michaud at Chalone before taking the reins as head winemaker for Testarossa Winery in Los Gatos. At Testarossa Ed’s deft touch with Pinot Noir and Chardonnay started to gain widespread attention. Before long, he found himself in demand as a consulting winemaker, taking on clients including Fort Ross, Freeman, Roar and Mansfield-Dunne while becoming a partner in August West. In 2003, Ed launched his own label, the Sandler Wine Company, devoted to small bottlings of Pinot Noir, Syrah, Zinfandel and Grenache, from his favorite vineyard and grower sources.
Tessier Winery – The multi-talented Kristie Tacey thrives where craft and science meet. Her impressive track record with Pinot Noir from several appellations now also includes Grenache and Russian River Cab Franc.
Flywheel Wines – Scott Shapely’s Flywheel Wines specializes in hand-crafting small-lot wines in the heart of San Francisco from fruit grown in Monterey County. With vineyard sources are located near the Pinnacles – a beautiful, majestic landscape that we showcase through a range of varietals: Chardonnay, Pinot Noir, Grenache, and Mourvèdre. Flywheel blends the characteristic fruit and minerality of the Chalone region with the free spirit of San Francisco, bringing the splendor of Monterey County and the vibrancy of the City to your glass.
Betwixt Wines – An Englishman now devoted to Northern California wine, Tim Telli’s Betwixt is dedicated to low intervention winemaking that underlines time and place.
This event will take place in downtown San Francisco in SOMA district. Exact address will be provided with ticket.
